Annick Sauvé - City in motion (Photographer) (Exhibition)

Exhibition at Jacques Cartier Park

Station number 3 of the Sherbrooke Photo Trail.

This recent series by photographer Annick Sauvé is inspired by the ICM movement, Intentional camera movement. This process combines the impulse of the camera with a longer exposure time, to create effects of deliberate blur in the final image. The subjects are not frozen in place but rather slightly blurred and brushed as in a pictorial work. Annick Sauvé captures iconic street corners of downtown Sherbrooke with this pictorialist technique and offers a different vision of the city, from a new point of view.
Annick Sauvé is a photographer, director and videographer who lives and works in Racine in the Eastern Townships. After training in media technologies, she became a director for Radio-Canada. At the same time, she practices photography and experiments with all the possibilities of this medium. She has exhibited in many venues in Estrie, including the Galerie d'art Antoine-Sirois and the Maison des arts et de la culture Brompton.
