This morning I'm going to buy a piñata ($4.80 CAD) to celebrate with the children tonight. We're going to fill it with candy.

I'm taking the bus to Managua, the capital. Here's the national monument.

An old cathedral in ruins.

I buy myself some fruit for 40 cents.

Honestly, I didn't like Managua; it's not a beautiful city to visit. It's big and not very attractive. However, I did enjoy seeing the new baseball stadium named after Dennis Martinez, a former star of the Montreal Expos.

I also went to the shores of Lake Managua.

I also saw the Tiscapa lagoon.

On the way back, I went to the Masaya market, a place full of life.

You can buy a live chicken for $6.

A pig's head...

And fruit under the watchful eye of a small baby.

Afterwards, I went to visit the Masaya volcano, I saw fire in the crater, it was magical.

We could also see fumaroles; it was very hot. I forgot to bring marshmallows.

In the next picture, you will see that all the black holes are heat vents.

I see a video game room for teenagers. It costs 80 cents to play for an hour.

The electricity meters are at the top of this electricity pole.

On the way back, I take a packed bus; the door barely closes. I wish I could find the centimeters separating my body from the other people, but I can't manage it for about ten kilometers. Tonight's the party...
