Jour 5: En route vers Nandaime

Day 5: Drive to Nandaime

I am currently in Nandaime, I am home!

I get up very early, say hello to my fleeting friends, and hit the road again. The road is lovely...but difficult.

On the way, I saw a place where you can bathe in a hot spring. I paid two dollars to enter. I was alone in the pools, but about ten women were doing laundry right next to me. They were working very hard.

They take the opportunity to wash in hot water!!! After the baths, I chat with people and learn that a motorbike costs less than my bicycle, at 500 Chocoyo (500 USD).

The price of a liter of gasoline is the same as in Canada! I drive and drive...and I meet a rope seller.

It's very hot and children are taking advantage of it to go swimming.

I finally reach the main road, I see a truck full of sugar cane.

A man is perched on top while the bus is moving, it's incredible!!!

It is also not uncommon to see an entire family on a motorcycle.

After 65 km, I finally arrive at Nandaime's house. I can see the changes that have taken place in the last three years. The church has been completely restored to its original color.

Now it's time for a reunion. Everyone has grown up. This is the fourth time I've seen my family from Nicaragua!

We share a meal together.

We're looking at photos from my previous visits. I'm glad to have arrived. My room was waiting for me.

In the evening we made a fire and I bought marshmallows, chips and a cake.

What a beautiful day!!! David Beauchesne
